Getting Ready to Go Green

Well we have made it through the Super Bowl. I have to say I was very disappointed in the game. I wanted the Broncos to win, but it was not a super huge deal if they did not. I did not expect that the game would be a complete blow out. I always hope for a close Super Bowl with good commercials.

This week we get begin in indulging in another great sporting spectacular, the Winter Olympics. I guess I am junky for the Olympics because I enjoy the competitions in all forms. I will admit that ever four years I am intrigued to watch Curling. I like the game because it is probably the only winter game left that I could ever remotely possibly qualify to be an Olympic athlete. I also like the fact that the game has a lot of strategy.

Now on to some thoughts on what we are truly looking forward to, the start of the NASCAR season. Here are a few quick thoughts:

  • How is the Daytona 500 winner, and subsequent race winners, going to race in the next races knowing they are already in the new Chase?

  • Will this new rules enforcement program and such actually keep teams from cheating?

  • Will Jimmie Johnson continue to dominate as we get into this season, and will teams fear him in the playoff as soon as he qualifies for it?

  • How many winners in the first 26 races will there be? I do not see 16 different winners in the first 26 races.

  • Will attendance begin to up-shift in person at the tracks?

  • Will Danica show more skills this season than just riding around in the back of the track?

  • I predict Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be qualified for the playoff season within the first 10 races of the season

  • I also predict that I will have great commentary on Twitter. A moment for a quick suggestive sell, please follow me @Troublinturntwo

  • A quick Indy Car thought, how will the new road course race a few weeks prior to the Indy 500 affect the greatest Spectacle in Racing?

  • Finally, I hope it gets slightly warmer in Central Illinois and the less snow so it can truly feel like its time to for “Drivers start your engines”.

Possibly more predictions before the Daytona 500. Please check back soon!!
