This week we move onto the Magic Mile of New Hampshire. Chicago brought us some interesting racing through the first Chase Race of this season. When it looked like Jimmie Johnson had the race all wrapped up, Brad Keselowski found his way out front after the last pit stop to lead the last 30 laps or so for the win.
Last week we also saw that the Jeff Gordon mustache did not bring any luck to the veteran driver. Gordon had a stuck throttle and hammered the wall. Gordon goes into this week almost a full race behind in points.
With Gordon’s bad luck at Chicago, he rolled into New Hampshire and created his own luck. Gordon won the poll and will start first tomorrow. Could this be the start to moving back up in the points? I would not discount Gordon yet, but he does have a long hill to climb to get back in the hunt. It could just start Sunday in this week’s race.
I would also watch the rest of the Hendrick drivers this week. Johnson and Kahne are big threats as well. You also never know if JR can run down the leaders and possibly get the win.
Enjoy the race this weekend.
